Designed eons ago, the concept of the heavy belt is to permit quick access to a myriad of items by keeping them within easy reach. Based around a sturdy fiberplast-like belt and suspenders combination, some of the more contemporary versions overlay the anterior portions of the suspenders with extra material, creating a vest-like appearance in the front.
The beauty of the heavy belt’s modular design is that it allows for unlimited alteration by its wearers to create endless configuration possibilities which fit their individual needs. Users can place pouches of almost any dimension, short of a backpack, on the apparatus’ various connect points.
The heavy belt is commonly used by individuals with a militaristic disposition to carry sidearms, grenades, and various other instruments of destruction. Drop down extensions can even be added to mount a fashionable hip holster. Meanwhile, the more academically inclined user can store datapads, hand-held sensor equipment, and portable positioning and communications devices to assist in their survey of uncharted celestial bodies.
